Some 8 or 10 years ago, Peter and I had the opportunity to meet Gary “The Kid” Carter and hear him preach. He was a humble, righteous man of God who took seriously the fact that he was a role model for millions of kids (and adults), and did not take for granted the blessings God placed in his life. Though on vacation, Peter wanted to express his sadness over the death of this baseball legend, and ask readers to pray for Carter’s family.
